A bit about me
Born and raised in Toronto Ontario, I have always been someone who has had a passion for art. Ever since I was a child I would love to draw and paint and create. As I got older I used my creativity to pursue a career in graphic design graduating in 2005 from Seneca @ York. By developing my skills over the years I was able to get an advanced understanding of typography, white space, layout, colour, branding and many other aspects of design.
Over time I chose to enhance my knowledge by completing an Interactive Design and Development course at Georgian college to learn about coding, SEO and the importance of it in a digitally driven world.
Even though I had multiple skills under my belt I still felt that there was more for me to learn and with that I chose to pursue the world of UX design. First taking a part time course at Bitmaker in 2017 and then fully delving into a full bootcamp course in 2020 at RED Academy. By the end of my schooling I was capable of conducting quantitative and qualitative research, as well as empathizing with the user and having a structured plan to build the best user experience based on each companies needs. Encapsulating my work in a well planned out wireframe to prototype.
The beauty of all my experience showed me that I was always implementing UX design in my life. Throughout my career I have always been inclined to put the user first and to know who I’m designing for and what purpose the user has in the product or service I am creating for them. Whether it’s designing for print, web or mobile, I have grown to appreciate the process, collaboration, and critique of the work I have done and how it has evolved me into a well rounded designer.
